The Bellizima Story

My name is Zherezada Isabel Domelin Lozada and I come from Cali in Colombia. During my time as a student in the beautiful Colombian city of Cartagena, I occasionally worked in a lingerie shop to earn some extra money. At the time, I had no idea that I would one day own one of the best lingerie boutiques in Germany. Especially not considering that I was studying engineering.

About nine years ago, I met my current husband on a trip to Europe. After our brief acquaintance, we met in Colombia and decided that we wanted to build a long-term relationship. Despite the great distance between Bremen and Cartagena, we traveled regularly between the continents from then on until we decided to get married and live together in Germany.

During his visits to Colombia, my husband also got to know Colombian fashion and its top brands, which are completely unknown in Germany. Only a few Europeans know that Colombia is one of the top fashion countries in South America - comparable to France or Italy in Europe. Accordingly, there is a large fashion scene and many companies in this industry.

When I moved from Colombia to Germany in 2014, I first had to learn the language, which was really not easy, because German is difficult and complicated, while Spanish is soo easy :-). After I had overcome this hurdle, I started thinking more and more about what I would like to do professionally and what is possible.

My husband finally had the idea of ​​opening an online shop for Colombian underwear and fitness fashion. So we imported the goods of many great labels from Colombia in order to make them better known in Germany. The success was limited, but quite OK.

In 2017, we saw an attractive, small shop in Bremen city center that was perfect for a boutique. So we decided to open a physical store in addition to the online shop. Here, too, we started with the brands we had selected from Colombia, but it quickly became clear that many customers were also looking for the classic premium brands from Europe. So we used this request as inspiration to expand our range. And to this day, with great success!

One and a half years after our opening, in December 2018, we were nominated for the Sous Award (also known as the 'Laundry Oscar') in the category "Best Newcomer Boutique in Germany". We didn't win, but we were among the top 10 in the final.

In December 2019, we also received mail and were nominated again for the Sous Award - this time in the category "Best Lingerie Boutique up to 85 sqm Sales Area". It happened as we had hoped: We won at the second attempt at the big final gala in Munich and have since been able to officially call ourselves "Germany's best lingerie boutique 2020".

This is our little story.
